Summer is over, the sun has retreated behind the clouds and the leaves are turning brown. The ESL Call of Duty 4 League: Autumn 2008 has finally been announced and signups are open.
Signups close on Thursday 18th September and the competition begins on Monday 29th September with seven weeks of intense competition up until the grand final of each division on week commencing Monday 10th November - just before the release of Call of Duty 5: World at War.
The structure of the competition is very similar to the Clanbase Fall 2008 Open Cup in many respects. There will be skill based divisions with 4 groups of 4 teams per divisions. The top 2 teams of each group will participate in a 8-team single elimination playoff series. Groupstage matches are one map, fixed per week, with the full 24 rounds played. Playoff matches are two maps, each team picks a map, first to 25 rounds, a tie break map for each round is fixed.
The
air gaming Assault team, will be participating in this competition.
ESL United Kingdom Pro Series

Electronic Sports League proudly announce the first ESL Pro Series in the United Kingdom! £30,000 of prize money is available for the best UK teams to win. The biggest games in the UK, Counter-Strike: Source and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, will be the disciplines of the first ESL Pro Series powered by Intel as the main sponsor. 12 teams per game will be able to take part in the first ESL Pro Series season in the United Kingdom.
Overall 12 teams will compete in each game of the ESL Pro Series. Beforehand, three qualification cups with 32 participants each - including
air gaming Assault - will be held. The best four teams from each cup will qualify for this first season of the ESL Pro Series. After 11 play weeks the best four teams will have earned their spot for the offline finals.
